What: Cousins having lunch and catching up

Not that the barbecue V had thrown hadn't been great, but Monique had to admit she was definitely looking forward to this lunch with just family. They'd invited Kyle over, and she was planning to ask him all about his tattoos and his band, and what he'd been doing since the last time they'd seen each other.

She was breezing around the kitchen, checking on this and that, finalizing everything, and just generally killing time until Kyle arrived and everything was ready. "V" she called. "Where do you keep your glasses?"

"Top left cupboard," it was definitely nice to just hang out with family. Lachlan was busy, but she worried about Kyle. He dealt with a moody God 24/7. He needed the structure of family.

She'd still enjoyed the barbecue. Anthony had gotten along splendidly with her family, and she'd never stop finding him utterly adorable. Now she was trying to dissuade her son from expecting another gift from her cousin. Kyle really did need to stop spoiling her son. Once he was settled she followed her sister into the kitchen. "Need any help?"

It was nice to have been around family again, being that he didn't see his brothers and other family often. His mother called to check up on him every now and then, or his father insisting he'd made nothing of his life, but Kyle kept going. He was happy, and finally feeling like things were going well again, even though he was looking for a new band to work with. Things fell apart with the other boys since Dionysus.

He had the weekend off thanks to Ariadne and couldn't be more delighted in getting to spend time with the girls and Bernie. When he came to the door Bernie opened it and beamed, letting Veronica and Monique know Kyle was there.

"Hey big Man," he said with a grin stepping inside.

Monique opened the indicated cupboard, pulling down four glasses. "I think everything's all set," she answered. "I just need to put these on the table."

She heard Bernie opening the door, and Kyle talking to him, and figured setting the table could wait a moment. She followed the voices to the door, pulling Kyle into a hug. "You're way too skinny," she told him with a smile. "Good thing there's a lot of food."

Veronica followed her younger sister when she heard Kyle had arrived and hugged him once Monique released him. "I'm going to have to agree with Nikkie. You are too skinny." She pulled back before motioning him inside. "Hows everything going?"

Kyle hugged the girls tightly. Family was good to have around when he'd been estranged from his own, worrying his mother. He ran a hand over his flat stomach. "That's what Mona says...." he was almost about to slip up and reveal more that would have left Monique confused. He looked at Veronica giving her the 'oops' look. "Things are gettin' back to normal. Got my job an' all back at the bar an' we got some help now. It's runnin' a lot smoother."

She rolled her eyes, letting her son run off to go play with his toys. Then she shared a conspiratorial smile with her sister. "Mona is his girlfriend." She smirked at Kyle, "Our little Kyle's gone and grown up. But I hear good things about her. Haven't met her yet though." She gave Kyle a look, then grinned. "Do you want a drink?"

"Ooh, girlfriend, huh?" Monique asked with a grin. "Well now I have to hear all about her!" She poked Kyle in the chest with one finger. "She's nice, yeah? Good for you?"

She grinned at her sister. "I remember when we were kids, my how time has flown," she laughed. "Yeah, come on inside, I'll get us drinks," she added, motioning them toward the kitchen. "Who's having what?"

Kyle grinned wide. "She's a nice girl, yeah. V didn't you meet her once? She's good to have around an' all. A lil' more reserved but, she's a pretty cool chick."

"Ah, V don't worry bout that, I'll get us the drinks. It's what I do remember?"
