"You're not ridiculous," she said, as though her mouth was on automatic. "Everything like this is just...it's new to me. I'm not human, I never have been, and my sisters aren't really pouring on the compliments, you know? And like I said before, you shouldn't have to change who you are, or censor yourself, for anyone. And that includes me." She polished off the last of her pie and reached for her own cookie. "And while I will agree that everyone else is indeed silly, I think I've been in this shape long enough that being complimented once in a while makes me smile, instead of cocking my head and staring at someone like they grew a second head."
