WHO: Greed & Zoe
WHEN: Thursday evening
WHERE: Zoe's apartment
WHAT: Zoe went away for three days and has just got home
WARNING: Sure, why not.
NOTE: We're impatient brats okay.
Zoe had to get out of the city because it was too much. She was hugely depressed over losing her grandmother's locket and she hated the fact that she let Greed's callousness hurt her. She knew from the start he was trouble, he was a player, and he was interested in just one thing. She was an idiot for letting it go as far as it did and she'd take the blame on herself. Why not, it wasn't Greed's job to care and actually back off and not break her heart. He had to go after what he wanted. It was human nature.
So Zoe ran to get some space and distance while she still had control over her emotions. Except her phone wasn't letting her forget him. She wanted to call Gabe but knew he was unavailable and she was starting to hate her phone. Greed was going to be the death of her. One minute hot, one minute cold... AUGH. She'd gone for a few days by the water which always settled her nerves except every time she got a message, she wanted to chuck the phone in the ocean. She'd tried turning the phone off but when she turned it back on, she'd have a slew of new messages from him. And though she didn't respond to any of them, she read every single one. And she hated that she missed him.
On the ride home she didn't even look at her phone, just miserably out the window of the bus. The person next to her said, "I think you have a message." Zoe didn't even look at them just said dully, "I know." a few minutes later, the phone buzzed again and the man said, "Could be important.." Zoe said in the same flat voice, "It's not." she closed her eyes and let her head thunk against the glass lightly as the phone buzzed again.
When she reached her apartment building, she pulled out her phone to scroll through the texts Greed had sent her today. She sighed and put the phone in her duffel along with her shoes so she could start the long climb up the stairs to her apartment. She'd cried already on her little trip away but all she wanted to do now was crawl into her nice bed and cry some more. If she really wanted to forget and move on she might have to change her number.

And in the moment she didn't care. He was being a jerk but he rescued her for the second time in a short while. She didn't take the necklace from him, instead she intertwined her fingers with the hand of his that had the necklace so the chain was between them. There was so much she was feeling and so much she wanted to say but she couldn't form words for any of it. He was such a jerk and such an amazing guy, he liked her, he didn't like her, he confused the hell out of her, she was annoyed and happy and she shook her head..
She just moved forward and put her other arm around his neck, going on tip toe to give him a kiss that would slam into him. She didn't know how to say it, so she let her kiss say it for her, all the feelings tumbling around in her head and heart. How grateful she was, how confused about him she was, how much she hated how he played with her, how much she missed him, how much she wanted him and how much she didn't want to want him.

"What else do I get out of this?" He grinned against her lips. Yeah. No. His stomach was already flopping around ready to purge.

She smiled wide when he put the necklace around her neck, a light coming back in her eyes. She shook her head, still in disbelief. "Chance.." she ran a hand through her hair, not looking at him. She was debating something and then looked at him, putting her hands on his chest, "Thank you." she sincerely meant it, he had no idea what this meant to her.

To him it was just a necklace. Another shiny thing that he'd wanted in his possession, now a tool to get out of her what he wanted. He didn't get her thanks, it wasn't the kind of thing he understood.

She studied his face for a few more moments, her own looking dejected. She didn't move, he didn't move. There was no go and there was no stop. And maybe that was worse than anything else, indifference. She tried to smile and failed, stepping back, letting her hands slide off him, "Thanks.. for dropping it off." She wasn't going to hold him there, God knew what he wanted because she certainly didn't. Was she crazy? This was the perfect out. But.. then why did she feel so rejected?

Except...she was genuinely nice which meant she was as bad for him as a virtue. And kissing her was giving him acid reflux something terrible.

Maybe she'd regret it later. She probably would regret it later. But right now, she just wanted to pretend she could keep him and that everything was going to be okay.

When he came out he was as pale as he'd been the last time he'd been with her. "Jesus you're going to kill me..." He said sliding down on her couch.

Part of her hoped it was some sort of medical condition because she was starting to feel horrible that it might be because of her he was getting sick. When he came back out, she grabbed his arm to help him onto the sofa but quickly let it go, taking a seat on the sofa a little ways away from him. His words just made her feel like shit and she grimaced, "Chance.. I'm so so sorry.." and then she frowned because she didn't even know why she was apologizing or what just happened.

"Stop." He groaned. He didn't like hearing sorries, thank yous, all that stuff just made his head hurt a little worse.

She took a deep breath and said softly, "I'm gonna call you a cab.." there was no way he could drive like this. She kneeled down next to the sofa to grab her phone from the duffel.

She gave him a look like he was crazy. "Oh my God.." she was losing her mind with him. She had never wanted to slap and kiss someone before as much as she did Greed. She threw up her hands, "Okay! Sit there till you feel better then." and she moved to grab the duffel, at least she could start unpacking or something, she didn't want to really make small talk after getting rejected. To her, it seemed like he just didn't want to take a cab. Not being responsive then kissing her then getting sick, telling her she was going to kill him and telling her to stop were pretty much clear indicators he didn't want to be here so Zoe couldn't for the life of her figure out why he was still here. Unless he just hated her and was doing this as torture.

She shoved at his shoulder, frustrated beyond belief, "But if that's all you want then let's do it. Let's get it over with so you can move on." she hit him again but there wasn't much force behind it, "Because I care about you and all you do is play with me." and that was the difference between her and a Virtue. Virtues had to care about everybody even hellspawn, Zoe chose to care about Greed.

As a Sin he was pushing her to a point to see how far he could string her through. Most couldn't handle him for long, she had managed a good three or so weeks.
He was kind of angry and excited at the same time that she could have such feelings without him using himself in influence. But she was greedy for him all on her own and he clung to that.
He looked to the bed then back at her. It was like the necklace dangling in his rear view mirror. It didn't feel like it was supposed to. There was no joy out of it, just as the promise of getting her in bed didn't excite him like he'd thought.
"Say it again..." He propelled his finger in the air, "that whole bit about what you feel 'cause that's a new one on me." It made him a little uncomfortable. It wasn't like Charity who always worried about him, or Lust, or the women he did use and abuse that wanted him for his meat. Or his money. Or whatever he drove them to. This was all Zoe and he'd probably fuck it up in the end, but he wanted to try because it was something so new. He wasn't a demon, he wasn't entirely evil.
