WHAT: Wrath trying to be romantic and George being sure she might kill him

Wrath was on a high and feeling less like herself than she had in years. Which was a good thing. She felt less like killing herself and after spending a delightful evening with Pride and another one with Lust messing with mortals, she felt less like killing other people too. Lust had even gotten her to admit she had a crush on George. And since her sister sin had given her some advice, Wrath decided she might at least try something about it.

She brushed her hair and tried to look presentable. She made sure Sloth was out of the house, doing god knew what. She even set things up so she could make coffee and put a few three-day-old biscuits on a plate. And then she texted George.

Hey. Come over, okay? Door's open, just walk on in. ~W

No swear words, no lies. Just an invitation.

And so she waited on the sofa, trying to look somewhat pretty.

George considered the wisdom of telling the truth, but decided to go with it. Wrath deserved it.

"Yes, if it weren't for..." George waved his hand, his best effort at explaining all the things he couldn't easily put into words. "I think you're beautiful, Wrath. And I like you a lot."

Wrath nodded from her space against the wall. "Right, okay. So uhm..." She chewed on her lip before finally blurting out, "Can we go on a date then?"

Wrath had no idea what she was doing. She just knew she liked George and maybe this was a good idea?

"I-" George rubbed the back of his neck and then nodded. In the back of his mind, he was pretty sure this was going to end with someone being beaten to death in the streets, but... "Sure. Why not? We can go on a date."

Wrath just stared at him a moment and then her jaw dropped open and she bounced forward. "Really!? Fuck yes! I will be so good, George! I won't hurt anyone because then you'll make that face you make and punch walls again."

She did like it when he punched walls. It was really sexy.

"I've never been on a goddamn date before. You know you like...can't take me anywhere nice, right? They'll kick me out because I'll drop the f-bomb too many times. Maybe we should go see monster trucks."

Wrath's glee was infectious, and George couldn't help but grin. "I'll find someplace where swearing is acceptable, I promise."

"Okay!" she said brightly. She sort of hit him on the shoulder fondly and went to shove a cookie in her mouth as she sat down again. "Fucking sweet. You should go though. Check on your brother. He said he was fine. But just in case."

"Oh, shit." He had temporarily forgotten about Patrick, and felt a terrible guilt over that. "Yeah, I need to go. I'll call you once I find something full of yelling, okay?"

With that, he was out the door and dialing Patrick's number, only turning back to wave at Wrath.
