It wasn't because of Pride. Greed chewed on the inside of his cheek refraining from opening his big mouth just yet. He couldn't tell her, he couldn't. This was a disaster waiting to happen and he didn't want to merge the worlds together.
His jaw twitched loosening his arms but not letting go of her legs. He looked at her, fighting everything inside him to just blurt it out. His eyes this time lined with tears but they weren't to put on a fake show so she'd let him in the door. "It's not because of Pride," he said in a hoarse voice.
