Normally, Tezcatlipoca didn't go out with Quetzalcoatl much, although he couldn't pass up an opportunity to get drunk and maybe see him do something foolish. Plus, he never turned down the chance to do a little mocking. Honestly. All those people going on and on about the world ending. Such nonsense.

He'd arrived at the address he'd been given, looking around for the Serpent amongst the crush of people.

"They like me here, they wouldn't take my tequila," Quetzalcoatl said, gesturing grandly and nearly displacing the ketchup bottle sitting at the edge of the table. "Oh, speaking of people who like me, Elena says hello."

"They would if they thought you couldn't get home safely," Tezcatlipoca said, outright smirking now. "But that's what taxis are for, so I say drink up." He held up four fingers this time, because it was a party, and you drank at parties. (He might have been a little drunk by now.)

"Oh, say hello to her for me," he said, finishing his own drink. He really did like the priestess, she was one of a very short list. "I should go by the Temple again soon."

Quetzalcoatl thought more drinking was a fine idea. It was very definitely not the end of the world, and so the supply of tequila was in no danger of running out.

"You should, she tells all the initiates stories about you," Quetzalcoatl said. "The Great Tezcatlipoca."

Tezcatlipoca downed half of one of his own glasses, torn between pride and apprehension. "Some of those stories make us sound like drunken frat boys," he snorted into his glass. "One can only hope she leaves those out when she talks to the initiates."
