She nodded and then glanced Nicholas over before she said, "so your parents were shiteheads sometimes too?"
Nicholas smiled and he took a seat so he could see Mairead. "Yes, sometimes they were. And it took a long time for me to realise that wasn't my fault. And I couldn't fix them either."
Mairead put her fork down and she nodded. "Sometimes I could kick 'em in their shins but I don't reckon that'd help much."
