Who: Lucifer, Michael, and Victor Brannigan
What: Little brother is bored so he creeps
When: Thursday
Where: Michael's Police Station
Warnings: Lucifer

After the debacle that was Valentines Lucifer had gone quiet. He very much wanted to scorch every Greek out there, but that would mean admitting Satan was right, and he didn't feel like being gloated over. The fact he'd do the same, was ignored. Instead he'd made his way into the police station his brother worked and when he found his desk had sat behind it.

Mostly, because he could. And he felt like snooping. Michael was probably the single most boring Angel in their Father's entire army, but he had good taste in sweets. And considering Lucifer took it upon himself to keep Michael employed by committing various murders (and various other offenses that never got pinned on him as Hell owned quite a lot of judges and cops) he felt he had a right to take Michael's stash of sweets.

Plus, it had the lovely benefit of annoying Michael. He'd found his way to a box of sweets he was happily devouring and into Michael's computer system (it paid to own a fair few computer geeks who had taught him how to break into most things. Plus Michael's passwords were horrifyingly simple to guess), and was going through a few things. Michael didn't even own a facebook profile he could toy with so he just switched every site he could find to the most gratuitous and shocking porn sites he could find.

"I heard the rest, I'm just ignoring it," Michael informed his brother. He knew about the heartless corpses, but he didn't want to discuss that with Lucifer. "And no, I don't think he needs a drink."

Michael was going to inform Lucifer that his advice had been horrible and unhelpful, but then Lucifer was addressing Victor.

"I have work to do," Victor said, shrinking back a little. He was not going anywhere with the devil, not even if Michael was there.

Michael arched his brow at Lucifer and he wished so hard that he could show the fallen angel how wrong he was. "I'll see you later, Victor," he said and then he indicated he would follow Lucifer out.

Immediately Victor grabbed his cell to call Kat.

Victor felt horrible, as he had already given Lucifer not only his first name but his surname as well. Of course it was also on his desk, so even if he hadn't, the devil could have seen it.

He clutched his phone, feeling utterly numb to what had just happened. "Kat," he whispered. "Lucifer was here."

That stopped her short, feeling a vague and utterly nameless fear. It took ehr a moment to find air, "Oh God. You're okay, right? Where are you?"

[identity profile] sciomachy.insanejournal.com 2013-03-29 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm at work," he reassured her quickly, since he realised he had done a poor job of that so far. "And I'm not hurt. He- He came to annoy Michael. Asked me if I wanted to make a deal and then invited me to go drinking. I feel...not very good."

[identity profile] shades-of-fate.insanejournal.com 2013-03-29 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah. Me too," it didn't take very long to get out of work from her side. Hecate was remarkably understanding, and just a bit worried herself.

"Okay," Kat gave after a moment. "Had to get out of my shift. I'll be there in fifteen." She had no intentions of having him deal with this alone. Even if she had to sit with him during the rest of his shift. "Just, talk if you want."

[identity profile] sciomachy.insanejournal.com 2013-03-29 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
The idea of Kat coming anywhere near a building Lucifer had just come into and might be returning to caused his heart to seize up. "No!" he said, more loudly that he meant to. "I...I mean, I can meet you at the diner across the street? I don't want to be here any more. They'll let me go."

[identity profile] shades-of-fate.insanejournal.com 2013-03-29 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
The forceful answer had made her frown, but his other words relaxed her. She was part afraid, and part deathly worried. "Okay, if you're sure you'd rather not have a place where we can talk privately?" A diner wasn't very helpful at calming someone down, and she wasn't sure how social she'd be right now.

[identity profile] sciomachy.insanejournal.com 2013-03-29 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
Victor thought for a moment as he stood and gathered his things. "No...no you're right. We should go somewhere else. I just don't want you here. Not-not because of you. Should...should we go to my place?"

[identity profile] shades-of-fate.insanejournal.com 2013-03-29 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
"I know," she didn't think he'd push her away from his work because of her. "Yes. I'm on my way there. We can keep talking and don't drive okay? I'm not very far."

[identity profile] sciomachy.insanejournal.com 2013-03-29 04:32 am (UTC)(link)
"I'll leave my car and get a taxi," he assured her. "I can be there in ten minutes."

He had indeed continued to talk to her as he travelled, but once he was in the taxi, he had had to change the topic to innocuous things. When he reached his house he let himself in and once he was safely inside the warded door, he leaned against the wall and slid down it.

She was glad he didn't drive. He didn't sound like he'd be in the right state for it. Neither was she. She'd rambled whatever had come into her mind while she went to his place, only ending the call then.

She let herself in and closed the door, not saying anything but sitting down beside him and setting her arms around him. She was happy he was okay, at least physically, but she wouldn't deny her own fear and panic either.

[identity profile] sciomachy.insanejournal.com 2013-03-29 04:41 am (UTC)(link)
The moment her arms were around him, he leaned into her. "Thanks for coming," he said softly. He felt half stupid for being panicked, and half like he wasn't panicking enough. He had just spoken to the actual devil.

"He knows my name," Victor whispered, suddenly shivering.

[identity profile] shades-of-fate.insanejournal.com 2013-03-29 04:51 am (UTC)(link)
"Of course," like she wouldn't be here for him after something like this. She hadn't even taken off her jacket yet, but all that didn't matter. She ran her hand through his hair, and didn't really know what to say to the last bit except hold him closer.

[identity profile] sciomachy.insanejournal.com 2013-03-29 04:59 am (UTC)(link)
"This is the guy who killed Michael and buried him in a field so he would stay dead for weeks," he whispered. Michael had explained that recently and it shook Victor to his core. "How can I know he won't do the same to me? I don't think I can do this."

[identity profile] shades-of-fate.insanejournal.com 2013-03-29 05:03 am (UTC)(link)
Just hearing that made her more then uncomfortable. And more then that, but she couldn't quite give a name to it. It made her shiver and she held him a little tighter.

She wished she could answer his questions, but she couldn't. "What do you want to do then?"

[identity profile] sciomachy.insanejournal.com 2013-03-29 05:11 am (UTC)(link)
"I don't know," he said, letting her hold him tightly. "I honestly don't know. It's my first day back in the field and I left early and now I'm panicking on the floor of my entryway.

Victor had heard some of the things Lucifer did to mortals when he was bored. Now Lucifer knew who he was, and he had already threatened to kill him about three times.

"He kept saying he could kill me as if he was talking about the weather."

[identity profile] shades-of-fate.insanejournal.com 2013-03-29 05:16 am (UTC)(link)
She closed her eyes and shivered again. She wasn't sure what to say, or what to do. Seh could only hold him.

[identity profile] sciomachy.insanejournal.com 2013-03-29 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
He sat like that for a long time, but eventually he seemed to get ahold of himself. He wrapped his arms around her instead of making her hold him up. Then he took several deep and calming breaths.

"It's days like today I wish I still smoked," he grumbled. "I'm sorry. I'm being an idiot."

[identity profile] shades-of-fate.insanejournal.com 2013-03-29 05:29 am (UTC)(link)
"Hey, no," she drew back enough to look at him. "This is a terrifying thing. If you weren't acting like this I'd be very worried something was wrong with you. I just don't know what to say. What to do. I'm scared you'll hurt yourself, or that this thing will hurt you. I think all of that's normal."

[identity profile] sciomachy.insanejournal.com 2013-03-29 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
"Hey," his face creased with worry then and he reached for her hand with his free arm. "Why do you think I would hurt myself?"
