Jamie smiled at her. "I appreciate that, thank you," he said, and he meant it. He had a bad tendency to bottle things up sometimes, and it helped to have a network of people he could call or text, or whatever.
He cracked some eggs into the skillet, getting out the spatula. "The last few days have actually been pretty good, there's been more smiling and laughter around the place, and that's good."
