WHO: Victor and Kat
WHAT: Needing a bit of consolation
WHEN: Friday night
WHERE: Victor's place
WARNINGS: TBA
At eight in the morning, Victor had headed into the precinct and handed his resignation over to his lieutenant. She had known it was coming, as they had discussed it in depth, but the simple act of handing the letter to her had made everything so real. Victor knew he could return to the same precinct later when he had finished his course, but that was if he hadn't moved to Massachusetts or hell...Japan with Kat. He was going to miss working with his fellow detectives and being Michael's partner, but he just felt so exposed and unsafe now. Lucifer had taken that from him.
His fellow detectives had thrown a party to say goodbye to him, and then he had cleaned out his desk and headed home where he had sat, a little forlornly, for far longer than was necessary. Eventually he texted Kat to let her know he needed some cheering up if she had time to spare and in return he could feed her dinner.
By the time he heard the door open, Victor was in the kitchen, focusing on making Senegalese food instead of how sad he was to have left a job he loved. It was better than dwelling. He looked up to smile at her, however, because if anything could make him feel better, it was her.
