Victor smiled warmly at her, glad to have her here to distract him. Terrible things were happening, but they still had each other.
"I'm looking forward to it," he said even though that was obvious. "Though you might also need to remind me not to only feed our child ice cream and cake."
There was something about saying 'our child' which caught Victor by surprise. It made him feel all warm inside.
