He had no idea what he was getting into, or how he was going to go about this. It had just sounded like a good idea, and his priest had confirmed it. He'd lamented that he wasn't great at pretending to be human, and the priest had said that was because he wasn't.

It had only helped a little.

True to his word he'd had his people cook, making sure his own meal was fit to be in polite company yet suited to his tastes, and waited for her. The table was nicely set and when his people opened the door he smiled to Mary.

He'd asked for privacy, so they left and he went to greet her. "You look nice," but she always did. "I'm sorry it's not very restaurant but I'm not good with social graces." He shrugged. "How are you?"
