WHO: Lena and Florian [NPC]
WHAT: Sibling fluff
WHEN: After Florian's post
WHERE: Their apartment
WARNINGS: Just language
Florian Rainmayr finished speaking to Joey over the internet and he clicked the screen of his computer off. Turning in his chair, which squeaked in protest, he found himself facing an opaque sheet of plastic hanging from the ceiling. It was mostly blocking off his view of the rest of the room, and it was splattered with pink paint. Florian's latest metal art piece was just beyond it and his younger sister was attacking it with the paint. He heard her yell and then another slash of pink splashed it's way across the sheeting.
"Okay," Florian rose and he headed for his sister, pushing the sheeting out of his way so he was in full view. "Whoa, Lena," he held up her hands, as she was clearly prepared for more splashing. "I think it's pink enough."
Lena, who had plastic goggles protecting her eyes, pulled them away and she stared up at it. "Heh. It does kind of look like a gay Transformer now..."
"Just what I was hoping for," Florian replied dryly. "Go look in the mirror. You look ridiculous. Instead of tan lines you have paint lines."
"At least it matches my hair!" Lena called to him as she skipped away towards her bathroom to clean up.
By the time she returned, Florian had relocated to the sofa and he was nursing a beer. He held one up for her, chilled and uncapped. "Thanks," she called, jumping in beside him and grabbing the drink. "And thanks for letting me go wild on your...thing. Whatever it is."
"It hasn't told me yet," Florian said, referring to his creation. "Maybe it's nothing. It'll tell me in time."
"OOoooOOOoooo!" Lena wiggled her fingers in mocking. She had never been visually artistic even though every single other member of their immediate family was. It was little wonder Lena didn't really like talking about art.
"Sorry," Florian chuckled.
"It's not your fault you're a wanker." Lena took a deep drink of the beer and then she let out a satisfied sigh. There was still paint on her nose, but Florian found it too adorable to tell her. "I think I got more paint on the plastic."
"You sounded into it. Everything okay?"
Florian had always been Lena's closest sibling. She had five to choose from, but Florian was the only one she felt made the effort to understand her. Lena was the outcast of the family. She was the musician in a group of painters and sculptors and Florian actually took the time to care about her artistic expression and not just his own. There wasn't much Lena didn't tell Florian. "Yeah. Just worried about a friend is all. Do you know that some families are really shitty? I mean...more than just indifference, some are really really shitty."
"I know," Florian nodded, more logical than emotional about it. "Is your friend in any danger?"
"Just...confusion and upset now, I think. If his brothers hurt him I might kill them. I could hire a hitman. That seems badass."
"Drink your beer, badass."
"Don't tell me what to do!" Lena pretended to yell, before taking a drink of her beer. "I always thought Mutti and Father were pretty shit because I was always overlooked. But really...they weren't so bad."
"They weren't so great either," Florian acknowledged. "But no. Not so bad."
Lena looked thoughtful as she finished off her beer and then leaned against Florian's shoulder. "I don't wanna think any more."
"Shouldn't be hard for you," Florian teased and he got an elbow in his side for his effort. "Ow. What do you want to do instead?"
"I don't know. Watch stupid movies maybe. American Tale? We can sing along."
"Only if I can be Fievel," was Florian's dubious answer.
"Sick of singing the sister's part? You just have such a delicate voice!"
"Hah hah. Go get the DVD, Elenachen."
Lena cheered and she leapt off the sofa to dash to her room and Florian laughed as she nearly crashed into the wall in her haste. As long as she cheered up, he could suffer through singing mice and cats one more time.
