What: Two Poseidon daughters catch up over booze

Having already seen her father, Rhode was making her way through the rest of her family. Ky was probably her favorite sibling out of the ones that were still around. She liked Triton and everything, but he could be a real stick in the mud sometimes. Ky knew how to have a good time, and that's why Rhode had invited her for drinks.

She made a trip to the grocery store a few blocks away, picked up a couple bottles of liquor and a pizza, and made it back a few minutes before 8. She knew how to be hospitable without going all out, which is what she was going for.

Rhode had been back in her life for five minutes and already Kymopoleia wanted to kick her a little bit. It wasn't Rhode really. Most of the time Rhode was fine. It was just the way that when Ky scrolled up on her post she could see Poseidon calling himself 'dad' when talking about her.

So fuck Rhode. Fuck Rhode for getting the attention of their father without even trying. Rhode was the favourite, and Triton was the air, and Kymopoleia was 'who the fuck are you again?'

Fuck Poseidon.

It was ten past eight when Ky showed up at the door, hair freshly blue and casual in her jeans and t-shirt. When the door opened Ky grinned at Rhode. "Hey, sis." She didn't go in for a hug. Ky didn't hug.

If Rhode could have transferred some of Poseidon's attention off of her and onto her sister, she would have. Sometimes her dad was downright creepy and overbearing, and if he had two of them to pay attention to, maybe it would help. But it had been that way for so long, and she didn't expect him to change. May as well ask the moon to shine during the day.

She grinned back. "Hey yourself," she said, standing back and letting Ky inside. "Come on in, there's booze and pizza. How's tricks?"

Ky walked in, taking a look around and then looking back to Ky. "Tricks are tricky, not much going on." the blue-haired nymph shrugged, smiling lopsidedly. "You?"

She closed the door, shrugging. "Not too much," she replied, pulling a pair of tumblers down from a cabinet and passing one to Ky. "Might be getting a job with Dad. Not sure yet." She poured herself a drink, glancing out the window. "I hate this city sometimes," she informed her sister. "Way too fucking cold."

"I like the cold," Ky said, pulling herself up to sit on a bench with her tumbler. "I don't much like the dry though, but the oceans around here are shit." She raised an eyebrow. "You're going to be working in Poseidon's office? Bo-ring."

She shrugged again. "Guess I'm just not used to it yet. I've only been here about 65 years, give or take, compared to a couple thousand on the island. And yes, they're complete shit."

She snorted. "If I have to work with that mermaid of his, one of us will end up dead. And it won't be me. I don't really know for sure yet, though."
