WHO: Patrick and Jacob Grimm (and a little bit o' Wrath)
WHAT: Discussing relationships
WHEN: Monday mid-morning
WHERE: Patrick's office
WARNINGS: Wrath's mouth and Jacob being Jacob

With the threat of high-winds and lots of rainfall, Patrick had still gone in to work on Monday. He had no doubt that there would be families in their care in need of assistance and he was right. People needed supplies and help with weather proofing things or temporarily relocating. He was hardly in the building and didn't even have a chance to rest until nearly lunchtime.

When he finally set foot in his office, he found Wrath at her desk looking murderous. "Wrath! Wh- What on earth are you doing in? You should be at home."

"Okay well first of all fuck you," she said, spinning around in her chair to face him, one eyebrow arched perfectly up to meet her hairline. "I didn't know there was a fucking hurricane, it's not like I watch the fucking news! And I need money because I fucking spent it all on a fancy fucking dinner and so I am trying to put your goddamn things into these assfucker spreadsheets and it's fucking freezing in here! It'll tittyfucking cold in our apartment too, the electricity went off last night for fuck knows why-"

Patrick finally raised his hands to shhh her. "Wrath. Wrath, shh. Yes? I will give you money to buy supplies. Here." He reached into his wallet and dug out a few bills and handed them over. "If your power is still off, come to our house, okay? It'll be plenty warm there. Now get out before the weather really picks up."

"Thanks," she mumbled, barely audible, as she shut down her computer.

Patrick looked up as someone entered his office and he was surprised to see Jacob Grimm there, holding Ella tightly against him. "Hello, Patrick."

"Ella!" Patrick bounced over and pulled his goddaughter into his arms, barely even noticing Jacob at all. He planted kisses all over her face and was delighted when she laughed.

"Oh sweet fuck, larva," Wrath hissed, and Jacob gave her an incredibly affronted look. Wrath recognised him as the man who had been talking about the Dead Zone in the middle of the country while she had been at the Diogenes Club, and she bared her teeth at him. "Oh calm down, there are worse things I could have called her. I'm gonna go before he starts the baby talk." And Wrath left.

"Yeah, that's my assistant," Patrick said, still paying attention to Ella. "She's a delight. Take a seat, Jacob. What are you doing out right now?"

Jacob sat after watching Wrath leave. "Ella was sneezing. I panicked and brought her to the emergency room to a doctor who treated me like I was crazy. And apparently I am, it was just sniffles. But I thought she was sick. Thought I'd stop by and see if you were here on the way home."

Patrick knew Jacob panicked about illness thanks to his dear brother being quite sickly his whole life. It made sense he would be paranoid over his daughter's health. "I'm glad she's okay. Aren't I, Ellabobella!?" Patrick went to sit in his desk chair and he bounced Ella on his lap.

"So you're dating Clio then, are you?" Jacob said without any warning.

Patrick's head snapped up and he blinked at the Grimm brother. "Y-yes. Jacob, are you here to kidnap me? Because don't please." When Clio had gotten pregnant Hermes had assumed Patrick had done it and kidnapped him. It hadn't been entirely unpleasant, but it was a bit confronting to be kidnapped by a Greek God and threatened to take care of a child that wasn't even his.

Jacob chuckled and he shook his head. "Not today, Patty. You look happy."

Just the mention of Clio had lit Patrick up and he was beaming. "I am," he said almost gleefully. Things with Clio were perfect. "She's incredible."

"Did you tag her yet?" Jacob said, his face perfectly impassive. It was likely he had asked it in that way just because he knew Patrick was a saint and he liked to lightly provoke people.

"W- uh. What?" Patrick flustered and then he sort of realised what Jacob meant and he turned bright red. "N-no. She's uhm...special. And I don't want to mess things up with...tag."

Jacob burst out laughing and he shook his head. "Good idea. She and I went straight for sex and we all know how that turned out," Jacob smiled fondly at his daughter. "You do realise if you hurt her or Ella, I will have to hurt you, yes?"

Patrick smiled and then he nodded. "I do. And I hardly think you would be the biggest of my problems in that instance. I would probably have to worry more about Hermes. I love them both, Jacob."

Jacob nodded and he leaned back against Patrick's sofa. "You know...I always worried about who Clio would be with because whomever it was would end up spending a lot of time with my daughter. I've never done this father thing before. She's so small and I worry about her all the time. And I trust Clio absolutely, so I know when she's there she's safe. But if Clio is with someone else then there's this other person and who knows what is likely to happen there."

"Jacob, I adore Ella. I would do absolutely anything to keep her safe." And he would. Patrick would die for her a thousand times over. He had fallen for her the first time he saw her tiny face.

"I know," Jacob said firmly. "That's why I'm glad it's you. You I trust with her. And I know it's unlikely that I will have to hurt you."

Patrick snorted. "Well good!" he exclaimed and then he kissed Ella's hair. "That means a lot to me, Jacob."

"And it should. There aren't a lot of people I would trust my family to." Patrick knew that was absolutely true.

"Here," Patrick rose and he regretfully handed his goddaughter back to Jacob. "You should get out of here before the rain starts. But I will tell Clio you gave me the big brother speech even though you are millennia younger than her."

"It's just my duty," Jacob said, straightening Ella's hat.

"Are you all set for the storm?" Patrick asked as an afterthought.

"All set. You should get home too, Irish. You don't have to save the world today."

To that, Patrick just waved his hands around and bade farewell to his friend. He still had work to do.
