If anything was true to life, Lucifer knew he did love Charity. He didn't wonder how this had suddenly happened. He didn't stop to remember that a year ago this exact feeling had send him to his brother's arms, where he'd spend curled up remembering the good old days. All he knew was that he needed to see Charity, and tell her of these things. It seemed to be the only thing to truly matter anymore.

So in a flash he appeared in her home, because it was the easiest way of traveling and looked around for her. He'd brought no gifts because he knew her. He'd do anything for her though, he knew that.

He smiled to the touch, grateful for it. He felt that as long as she kept it, he would be alright.

At her comment he sighed. "I know that. I do...regret." He frowned to that, unused to such things. He did not regret, not really. It only felt like he should. Mainly because he was sure it would please her. "Can you forgive me?"

Charity smiled brightly, surprised and delighted to hear him say such a thing. He'd never said anything like it before, not to her and she suspected not to anyone.

"Of course," she said to him. "I forgive you all things, Lucifer. I always have. I've always loved you."

He let out a breath of relief. He wasn't sure why it mattered that she forgave him, only that she did. "Good. I'm glad. I miss talking to you. It's harder now. It shouldn't be."

"It shouldn't be," Charity agreed. She took his hand and led him over to the couch. "Sit. Tell me what's on your mind?"

Doing as she asked he sat down. "You," he offered honestly. "I just needed to see you. Needed to talk to you. Just be around you."

A smile and Charity said, "then that you can have." She took his hands in hers, ignoring that slight tingle that came with his hellfire. It didn't really hurt. It felt somewhat nice, she thought. "I'm always here for you, Lucifer. Don't you know that by now?"

"Apparently not." With a sigh he set his head to her shoulder. It felt nice to be around her, to just be. And to know that she would accept and understand. "I'm sorry I didn't bring something."

"You don't need to bring me anything," Charity told him, laying a kiss on his head and then stroking his hair, slow and soothing. "Your company is gift enough."
