What: Chillin' with the Voice of God post-jail

Easter was a good day. It had Jesus, chocolate, and putting the dogs in bunny ears, which were three of George's favorite things. But poor Metatron was apparently not having such a great time, so George figured that he ought to cheer him up. What was better for that than Chinese food?

He stopped outside of Metatron's apartment and sent him a text. 'I'm outside. -St. George'

"Sort of." It was always weird to explain. "They aren't human and are forbidden to be with them. The Nephilim caused too many problems. But they can be with others. Michael's asked me advice on that, and more recently Uriel. They wish to connect more."

"Uriel's interested in someone?" George asked, delighted. "I bet that would make him like 10 percent less grumpy, at least."

He had to chuckle to hat. "No. Unfortunately it's Eve which is a whole other issue. Fr him anyway. I asked him if he'd regretted not speaking to her if she'd fade tomorrow. He went and talked to her. I'm not sure about much else as he hasn't come back for more advice."

George leaned back in the seat and tried to imagine Eve or Uriel on a date. It was confusing. "Wow, angel love lives are actually very complicated. Oh, um, speaking of Michael...do you think he's okay? He's been sort of different ever since Lucifer killed him."

He nodded. "It is a very fine balance. They ask me, because I still understand human emotions." He sighed. "I'm not sure. I went to check up on him a little while back. I think, most of all, he misses his brother. I didn't know Lucifer before, but Michael did. I think it hurt him Lucifer could do that."

He frowned, "which is odd to hear I imagine. You've felt Lucifer's wrath and his poison. I think Michael's come to see Lucifer is truly lost." He gave a small smile, "after all, how long would you fight for your brother's George? He'll come to someone though, if he needs to talk. That and he's starting to understand humans more. He even acted very human a few months ago. He saved a mortal he's friends with, even though the mortal was in death's hands."

"I'd fight for my brothers forever," George said, meaning it entirely. He chased a piece of rice around his plate with chopsticks. "Michael's always been a little bit more human than I think he's aware of. It's just hard to imagine Lucifer being...anything but Lucifer, I guess."

George closed his eyes and unbidden remembered Lucifer's little experiments in showing his true self to him. Vast wings and blazing heat besides unimaginable cold. He shuddered, shook his head, and forced a smile at Metatron.

"I'm sorry to bring it up," he was. he didn't want to cause pain. If it was a more private setting he'd just let God comfort George but he didn't wish for prying eyes.

"Imagine yourself as something else I suppose." He shrugged. "Michael's troubled, but he'll come to us if he needs it. He knows he can. I think he's just mourning really. Lucifer cannot go home. Neither of them can. I guess a small part of Michael hoped for the opposite."

"It's okay," George said, waving a hand and swallowing down bile. "It isn't your fault. It's Lucifer's fault." He took a deep breath and felt a bit more centered. "And I think it was more than just a small part. But you're right, Michael's a grown up angel, he'll ask for help if he needs it. I just wish there was something I could do."

"Just be there for him. It's all we can ever do." he rose then, "I think I'll go fetch some food. Come find me if I wander off?"

"Will do," George said, a more real smile on his face. "Try the crab rangoon, it's seriously good."
