WHAT: Drinking after Lena's show
WHEN: Friday night
WHERE: Lugosi's and then a nice pub



The show that had been put on by the actors, musicians and dancers of Lugosi's was astounding. There had been live music, burlesque, comedy routines and even illusions. Lena had performed a pretty amazing illusion where it looked like she had been beheaded and Victor was still puzzling over how it had been done. The show even included pyrotechnics.

And Lena stripping down to some pasties shaped like hearts. Even though she wasn't naked, Victor had still averted his eyes. He felt a little strange staring at the nearly-naked form of his friend; his's friend's girlfriend as well. Thomas, however, had sat there the entire time and looked like he had gone to heaven.

Through it all they had been served a gourmet appetizer, meal and dessert. Afterwards, Victor decided theatre restaurants were awesome and he wanted to come back.

After the show the trio had been told to head backstage as Lena had given the guard their names. They slipped behind a curtain and Lena come barrelling towards them, all pink hair and a wide grin. "Hi!" she said happily and she went to kiss Thomas. "Did you guys like it?!"

"It was fantastic," Victor said with a grin.

"Says the one who didn't look," she gave teasingly. She had to admire Lena's courage. She had no issues with her body, but wasn't nearly confident enough to show it off in the way Lena did. That and Lena was far more bendy then she herself could ever be.

She half remembered her mother saying that exercise wasn't bad, and wondered if Erica would implode if her daughter let out she'd take up Lena's example and go into that.

"But you did great," she offered Lena. She'd had fun and it was amazing. "Very bendy, I am in envy of your skills. And you looked very amazing." she glanced to Thomas, "hope you don't mind me complimenting her. She looked fantastic."

"I looked for most of it!" Victor protested and Lena giggled at him.

Thomas smiled at Kat and he shook his head. "Of course not, why would I mind that? She did look fantastic."

"D'awww, you guys," Lena waved her hands around. "Still, my pink hoodie is more comfy," she said, flipping the hood over her head and beaming at them. She had managed to change into her jeans as well so they could head out immediately. "Thank you very much, Kat," she said to the other woman. "I could teach you!"

She gave Victor a teasing smile before offering Thomas a shrug. "Some people are strange?"

She played with the idea for a moment before shrugging. It couldn't hurt, just as long as she didn't say anything. She knew Peitho would probably get a little bit too interested and despite the humor of it she didn't want her mother freaking out either. "Why not. Can't hurt. I have no skill in dancing what so ever though. Somehow that skipped me."

"Very true," Thomas mused with a nod.

"I want a drink! There's a really nice pub around the corner," Lena announced and she headed out, twining her fingers with Thomas'. "We don't need to dance, but I could teach you to kick box if you wanted, Kat!"

It was kind of adorable to see Lena with Thomas. She was glad for them. "I think I'd like that more. Some exercise certainly can't hurt." It'd help to make her feel safer. Granted most of the things she feared were of the variety that kick boxing wouldn't help her with, but it would help. "How long have you been doing this Lena?"

"I started working at Lugosi's about five years ago as an entertainer, but before that I served drinks there," Lena explained. "I got the job right after I turned 21 and was old enough to serve alcohol. Then I just auditioned every time they held one until I got cast."

Lena slipped her arm around Thomas' and she smiled up at him and he laughed. "Persistence, I like it."

"That's how I roll!" Lena said brightly.

"Persistence is admirable." She found her coat and shrugged it on, knowing the nights were still a little chilly. "And you had a good idea about drinks." It wasn't something she did often, she didn't see the point in spending money to feel awful the other day, but every so often she did like a drink.

"Also as the only one to get carded in this adventure you all suck."

Victor chuckled and he pulled her close as they walked, so he could drop a kiss on her hair. "Don't be silly, I bet babyface Thomas gets carded all the time too."

"You're a brute!" Thomas called out to him, though he was laughing.

With a smile she set her arm around Victor and laughed to Thomas' comment. "This is true. Oh hey do you get the twice look too Thomas? It's fifty fifty for me whenever someone thinks I got a fake. So much fun."

"I used to," Thomas admitted. "Not so much in the past few years, though people nowadays think Jamie is my younger boyfriend instead of my son. It gets a little awkward."

Victor's eyes widened at that and he severely hoped no one ever suspected the reverse with him and Kat. If anyone called her his daughter in public, he might wilt from embarrassment.

"Pub!" Lena announced, pointing to it and then leading them all inside to a table.

She noted Victor's reaction and stopped the teasing. Instead she followed Lena into the pub and took a seat. She set her coat on the back of the chair before picking up a menu and looking to the bar. "Wonder if they do mixed drinks here. I'm going to find out." With that she hopped of the chair, "Anyone want to join me?"

"I'll come!" Victor said, wrapping an arm around her as they stood. "I want to see if they'll make me a mudslide. No laughing," he said back to Lena and Thomas who looked at him innocently.

When they walked away, Lena cuddled into Thomas and she smiled at him. "So you liked the show?" she asked cutely.

"I'm pretty sure that's the best thing I've ever seen," he replied honestly.

"Good answer," and she kissed him.

She hadn't really followed the joke but she waited and moved to the bar. Thankfully they did make what she liked so she leaned into Victor as she waited. She spared a glance back to the table then chuckled. "They're being adorable. I'm half surprised they're not going home."

Victor ordered his mudslide, possibly the most sugary drink ever invented, and he turned to glance at Thomas and Lena. "They really are. I'm sure they'll excuse themselves eventually. It's really nice to see. The night I went to get him from the pub, he was telling me he was afraid he would never find someone who could look past his diagnosis, but apparently he already had."

"It's a good thing to know he has someone. Thomas is a good sort.." she took her drink with a thanks and sipped from it. "I'd leave pretty quick. That and I envy the bendy." She blinked and looked at her drink. "Maybe I shouldn't have this."

Victor laughed and he bent down to kiss her cheek. "You're the cutest, you really are." He grabbed his drink, which was basically a sundae, and they walked back to the table.

"Hey, welcome back!" Lena raised her arms in welcome. "Thomas was trying to suck my face off." She put her hand over Thomas' mouth to keep him from protesting. He just look nonplussd. "So Kat, tell me about you so I can call you my friend!"

She gave him a look then smiled. "Oh shush. Like you'd say anything if I was a bit more bendy." She stole a quick kiss before following him and taking her seat back.

"So I noticed. And alright." She set her drink down, "Born in Nebraska, moved to Australia when I was eight years old. We stayed there until I was seventeen so I finished high school here. Got my bachelors, now trying to remain alive in the undergraduate process. And hopefully get into MIT. I'm studying linguistics and majoring in Computer Science and loving the A.I. track. Let's see. I play a lot of video games. I think that's it."

"Oh my god, that is so hot," Lena enthused, and then she realised she should probably take her hand away so Thomas could speak again. "I'm bi-lingual but only because I was born into it. I love languages, and I wish I could do more with computers. Though I do play video games. Mostly fighty ones though. Kicking my brother's pixelated ass is a good way to unwind."

She laughed to that and sipped from her drink. "I've been trying to teach Victor the value of a good fighting game, and others. And my mom taught us languages young. I grew up with Greek and some French. They just come easy to me. I have those two, some Sanskrit, Creole, and Spanish."

"That's awesome," Lena boggled. "My family is Austrian so I speak fluent German, but that's it. And it's the Viennese dialect so when I travel in Northern Germany I get looked at like I'm a farmer. Seriously."

Thomas chuckled at that. "Jamie and I are about to go travelling and I'm pretty sure we'll get stared at for being uncultured Americans."

She chuckled to that, "yeah dialects are weird. I find it fascinating. If I wasn't trying to get into A.I, I'd probably do something with that."

"Oh, it's definitely going to happen," Thomas laughed

Victor sipped his drink, twirling his spoon in the glass so that the chocolate mixed with the ice cream. "I love languages too, and I was thinking of studying them before I decided on forensic science."

"Do you get to wear a lab coat? I like lab coats," Lena informed him.

"I'm fairly sure I do, yes!"

She watched Victor with a smile, "you know, next time just order a shake and put some alcohol in it. I hear it goes better." She paused to consider then giggled. "I do like the lab coat idea." Probably for not the same reasons.

"What got you into burlesque anyway? And I admire the courage by the way. I don't think I could do it."

"Well that's essentially what this is, but that sounds like less work," Victor chuckled. "And not complaining about you liking the lab coat."

"I grew up on a commune," Lena explained. "And people walked around naked all the time, so I was always really comfortable with it. I was actually in a band and my friends and I went out to Lugosi's on a whim. And since that moment I knew I wanted to work there because I could play my music, act, dance...basically do everything I love all at once."

She smirked, "yes but then you have more flavors then one." She laughed then, "well I'm a bad person. You don't want to know."

She turned to Lena and listened. "I have no problems with myself, but still. I think I'll keep the no clothes thing for just one person. And generally that's what I want to do, just with computers. The market's getting bigger, although Japan has a really big lead. I've considered learning the language in case I ever get lucky enough."

"I think that's an awesome idea," Lena said excitedly. "Just in case! Working in Japan would be so awesome."

"I've always wanted to go there," mused Victor.

She smiled to Victor. "You are awesome. But yes Japan is interesting. I've always wanted to visit for the culture. But it's stupidly expensive so I've just put it on my bucket list. And Japanese is just a neat language."

"We could learn it together," Victor suggested, since he loved learning new languages as well. He found it terribly easy, thanks to his eidetic memory. "Just in case."

"I feel boring, I only know English," Thomas laughed. "But I quit high school, so that's probably not surprising."

"Oh so did I," Lena waved her hands around.

"And me," Victor offered. "Well, I left and got a GED."

"Yeah, you're all taking away my excuse and it's not cool," Thomas joked.

She smiled at him. He was really amazing, and sweet. She set her hand on Victor's leg. "That would be nice. I'm sure there's ways of learning it online."

"Wow, I didn't. And poor Thomas. Now I'm the only one left out."

Victor grinned and he leaned down to kiss Kat's temple. "We'll look into it."

"Not a bad club to be left out of, to be honest," Thomas grinned at Kat. "I had to fight with about twelve universities until one eventually let me in. It was awkward," he shrugged. "It worked out!"

She smiled and kept close. She was pretty lucky. "I'd like that." She looked to Thomas and smiled. "All for the better, really. So where all are you going to travel?" She glanced to Lena, "you going with?"

"We're going to Italy and then over to Germany and Austria," Thomas explained.

"It's a father/son trip, though I am contemplating meeting them in Austria since it's my home country."

"And having someone who speaks German would be really handy," Thomas laughed.

She nodded, "this is true. I do really want to see Europe one day. But so far we were discussing Greece."

"We can go anywhere you'd like," Victor made sure to say. He would love to experience Europe with her.

She kissed Victor in response. She was glad he would come with her, and had no hesitation about it. "Well I'm biased towards Greece, but if you have a preference, do let me know."

"No, works for me!" he said with a grin.

"Greece seems like it would be incredible," Thomas added, a little dreamily. "I've never been anywhere so I think I get over-excited at the idea of travel."

"I think the travel bug hit me after we moved to Australia and back." She smiled, "and it's not like you can't go down there. I've heard travel in Europe is fairly easy."
