WHO: Nephthys & Anubis
WHEN: Tuesday afternoon
WHERE: Somewhere unspecified in Manhattan
WHAT: Mother and son surprise reunion
With the weather turning warmer, Nephthys had taken to sleeping on the balcony of her apartment instead of inside. It comforted the night goddess to be exposed to the sky above, even though stars could hardly be seen here. The sky was an almost blank thing in this city, and Nephthys missed that arching starred roof of her mother's body.
In the mornings she woke, night clinging to her skin, to greet Ra's bright hands and enter the world of mankind as she had been doing. During the week she attended classes on psychology and at Columbia University, and during the weekend she gave her time at a hospice to help those coming close to death. Nephthys understood death and grieving more personally than most ever could, and she could bring comfort to those that hadn't yet passed over just as she'd once helped those that already had.
It was coming from one of her classes that she felt the presence of one of her own blood. But it wasn't one she recognised the feeling of - not one of her siblings, not the lioness or the cow - and so she followed it with curiosity.
A man, that was who the feeling led to, but from the back of the head she couldn't know who it was, only that it was a god. "Hello," she said to the man, waiting for him to turn.

"It appears he has left." It seemed the two of them had been alright for a moment there, but of course it couldn't last.
