What: So I think I got bit by a vampire, what's new with you

In between convincing her grandfather to lay off the bodyguards, Kat was looking forward to seeing Aoife. She'd pretty much given up on walking to Victor's place and taken a cab, but it still felt safe and she was relaxing so much more at home instead of worrying herself to death. Ace not leaving her side and giving her all the necessary cuddles was also helping. So was the ice cream.

She wasn't sure if she should feel more, or less, afraid and in between worrying about potential diseases (even though the doctors said she was fine) she worried about that. It was almost enough to get concerned about it, but hiding in a Victor hug tended to help so she tried to let it go. The vacation would be nice too, not having to worry about crazy things, and the wounds were just small enough to not be noticed.

When Ace sat up, then ran to the door she followed him, figuring Aoife was here. When the knock confirmed that she opened the door with a smile and tugged Ace back. "Hey you. Down, no." She told Ace and made sure he didn't jump too much.

"Hey!" Aoife leaned in to hug her cousin and then she bent down to offer one hand for Ace to sniff. "He's so adorable, Kat. Hi, Ace!" He could fuss over Kat in a moment. Right now she was going to be happy for a few seconds.

She'd returned the hug before smiling at the dog and her cousin. "Isn't he? We saw him and we pretty much decided he had to come home with us. He's part chow and part shepherd, which explains all the fuzzy. Here, I managed to save some ice cream for you."

"You're so cute!" she cooed at the dog who licked her hand. She grinned and scratched his ears before straightening up again. "Ice cream sounds good but let me look at you for a second." Aoife eyed her up and down, her expression worried. "Are you going to keel over or anything?"

She shook her head with half a smile, "nope, already did plenty of that." She brushed her hair aside to show the wounds, which still had a small bandage on them.

"I got to experience shock. They said I almost lost 30% of my blood. I got lucky someone found me." She released her hair and toyed with her shirt. "Walking anywhere isn't happening right now and I'm just kind of staying here until Vic says otherwise. I kind of freak when people are behind me too." She sighed. "So yeah. Vampires is an option. Or just some psycho with a fetish. Honestly don't know which is worse."

"Shitneedles," Aoife whispered without really knowing what 'shitneedles' meant. "Fucking vampires now? Christ. If it was a vampire I'd kick it in the teeth for you."

Victor peered around the corner and he smiled widely at Aoife. "Hello there, stranger."

"Vicky!" Aoife raised her arms in a gesture of triumph and greeting, but she didn't leave her cousin's side.

She smiled to the comment, "hey I'm pretty sure I encountered a werewolf last Halloween so nothing surprises me anymore. I just wish shit would stop biting me."

Smiling she led Aoife further inside, "I'm managing to be okay so far, and Vic's being super helpful." She smiled to her boyfriend, "so go share hugs and all that. We have tons of ice cream, anything you want?"

"Oh my god, are you like a magnet for gothic horror creatures? We got to get you demagnetised!" Aoife said loudly. She was pretty much always loud though.

She followed Kat and then did as her cousin told her. 'Sharing hugs' with Vic apparently meant leaping into his arms and hugging him tightly; something Victor was only half-prepared for.

"Oof! You're like a redheaded bullet," he chuckled, hugging her back before setting her down.

"That's me!" Aoife acknowledged. "And ice cream sounds awesome."

She chuckled at the interaction and took a seat so she could see both of them. She was fairly alright with Victor being behind her, and she was working on other people, but this felt good right now. "I hope not because otherwise sign me up to get demagnetized like crazy. It's seriously no fun."

"Bowls please?" She asked Victor before looking back at Aoife, "worse is spending money on cabs but being around a group of people makes me feel kind of panicky. I'm thinking about conscripting vic into driving me until I get settled again."

"I have a driver so if Vicky's ever busy I can help too!" Aoife offered. She went to sit beside Kat as Victor busied himself dishing up some ice cream.

"No one should hurt my Kat."

"I very much agree," Victor spoke up. "And Vicky hardly needs convincing to drive you around, Love."

She smiled to Victor before looking at Aoife, "well I was going to pay him back with a lot less clothes on." She could at least make jokes. She was around people she trusted and who loved her. "And I'm very tempted for such a thing but I'd just feel shitty about it. No reason to waste someone else's time just because I have issues. My grandfather tried having bodyguards and I send them hom for that reason."

"WHOOHOO!" Aoife said, raising her arms and doing a little shimmy in her seat. "Bodyguards, huh. My mother has those too. They're so weird. Having a driver is weird too, but she insists."

Victor carried the bowls over and then he kissed Kat's cheek. "Taking care of you will never be a waste of my time, Kat. And if I get thanked with less clothes on, that's just a bonus."

She couldn't help but smile at Victor again, "you make it hard to be trying to be jokingly seductive when you're so awesome." She took the bowl before looking to Aoife. The distraction was doing wonders. ""She does? I figured she just brought her husband along everywhere and he just kind of wards everything off foreer? And on to that, what's he like? Ares I mean."

"Yeah, but they stay downstairs. More like...bouncers for her business or whatever. And oh my god, Ares. I think he would hit on me if my mother didn't stop him. But they're actually weirdly cute together, not that I would ever call him cute to his face."

Aoife dug into the ice cream and then she smiled a creamy smile. "So things with you two are awesome then? They'd better be. I'm watching you," she said to Victor before pointing at her eyes and then at him. His response was appropriate laughter.

She laughed to that, "yeah I don't think he'd take it very well. Also another relative I'm cool with not meeting." She smiled at Aoife's comment and nodded, "yes. Odd bites not withstanding. We're going to Greece for a bit so that'll be fun."

"Don't blame you," Aoife agreed. "I don't mind Ares, but he's not everyone's cup of tea for obvious reasons." She grinned, knowing that Victor and her cousin seemed to be happy. She had been the one to point out that they should just date already. She felt terribly pleased with herself.

"Greece! My step-mother goes there all the time for photo shoots and shit. She took me a few times and it rocks. Escaping from werewolves and vampires sounds good too. Who's looking after Ace?"

She shrugged, "I guess it's the same way with my grandfather. He's putting his best foot forward for me. Pretty sure Ares is similar." Every so often she let Ace take a bit of ice cream, mostly because she enjoyed spoiling the dog.

She blinked then and looked at Victor, "euh these are good questions. I could ask Hecate, unless you want to Aoife? I'm not too sure about asking Michael. He seems very confused at the concept of dog."

"Yep. Best foot forward, pretending he's not all about murder and war," she sighed and then seemed to brush it off.

"I can if you want me to!" Aoife had had a beautiful dog in Australia which had moved to Ireland with them, but she had eventually had to be put down. "It would be better if I was house-sitting though. My mother might be weird about a dog in the apartment. And it would be less confusing for Ace."

"I was thinking about asking my sister-in-law but that works too! Means Ace doesn't have to go anywhere else." Victor trusted Aoife in his home and with Ace as well.

"Well to be fair he's also about order and civil order." She shrugged, trying to make Aoife feel a little better. "And hey my grandfather is basically a patron of thieves. They all got their shit."

She smiled to that, "hey that works." Smiling she ruffled Ace's fur, "hear that boy? Aoife's going to look after you and make sure you're not too lonely. Next time we'll bring you though, promise."

"They do indeed," she nodded. She was glad she wasn't a god. Being the daughter of one was weird enough at times.

"We'll have a great time, Ace! I love parks so I'll take him on lots of walks."

Victor grinned and he stood to clear his bowl. As he passed, he gave Aoife's shoulder a squeeze. "Thanks for this, Aoife."

"Sure! You both took care of me after my dad died, it's no big deal. Besides he has the best face!"

She nodded, "yes thanks. Apparently I am a bad dog mom. I didn't even think of who would look after him." Smiling she let Ace lick the rest of her bowl clean, "but I make it up to you, don't I baby?" She cooed at the dog before smiling at Aoife, "and that's never a problem. You are helping me with all this, and I appreciate it. I'm still working with him off his leash so just keep that in mind. Other then that he's good."

"It's all good, I had to work with my Lady too," she assured Kat."

Victor took the bowl from Ace once it had been licked clean and he slipped it into the dishwasher before going to be near Kat again. He knew he had been hovering a bit every since she got home, but it was clear he didn't really want to let her out of his sight as much as possible.

She gave a grin, "sorry. New dog mom so everything is all so shiny and new. I'm totally going to be that kind of parent." She gave a sigh and rolled her eyes again. She leaned into Victor, hardly minding the hovering. It was making her feel safe right now.

"I love it," Aoife reassured her. "Talk about your dog all you want to!" She watched as Victor wrapped his arms around Kat and it made her smile. "God you guys are adorable."

Victor leaned in to kiss her hair. "It's all her."

She chuckled at that and set her hands over his, "oh yeah. I totally make this." She grinned up at Victor before smiling back down to Aoife. "I still can't believe people gave Ace up. He's such an adorable dog."

"Maybe they didn't know they were allergic or something," Aoife offered up. It was the only thing that made sense to her, Ace was wonderful. "This'll teach me to go on vacation ever again. My cousin gets a dog and loses shitloads of blood. Anything else happen when I was gone? You guys didn't get engaged, did you?"

Nodding she stroked Ace's ears and smiled to the obviously happy puppy. "It's alright," she turned back to Aoife, "don't let it stop you and no. But Vic's sister in law and her girlfriend did so that's cool. Their wedding is in October."

"Oooh, awesome!" Aoife grinned, easily distracted by the idea of a lesbian wedding.

"It is very awesome," Victor nodded. "I'm all excited about it and the both of them keep teasing me. Which is fair if you think about it."

"It does make you adorable," she gave Victor before smiling, "but I agree. I even got a very pretty dress for it, thanks to mom." She was looking forward to it all, "it's going to be at the aquarium I think."

"Awesome! Aquarium wedding! And I'm sad I missed dress shopping, but we can always go later. OH! You should so go shopping in Greece because they have beautiful clothes!"

Victor just smiled at Kat, amused. She didn't seem like the kind of person to spend all day buying clothes like Aoife was.

She really wasn't, but she'd endure a clothing trip for her cousin. "well you can help me pick out bikini's for the trip because I outgrew all of mine. One of them must be leopard spotted though." She grinned, "just as a joke."

Victor snorted and hid his face in Kat's shoulder as Aoife raised her eyebrows. "Oh my god, seriously? Well okay then! Shopping!"

Grinning she raised her hand and set it on Victor's neck, "sorry baby, but this is like a challenge now. I must wear it when Thomas and Jamie come. For science. And great. It'll help me deal with people and you can distract me if I get to weirded out."
