WHO: Svetlana and Vlad
WHAT: Welcome to America, don't fuck it up
WHEN: Friday
WHERE: ...place...
WARNINGS: Vlad. Language.

When the news had come that they had found a match for Svetlana, she didn't know what to think. What she did know, was what to do. She gathered the few possessions she had in the world, and she got ready to fly to the United States where she would be issued with all the fake identification she would need to stay, and then shoved into the arms of the man who had bought her.

Or so she was led to believe.

On the plane she had watched a few movies and tried to avoid talking to the people in the seats beside her. She had been offered wine, but refused. She had never been on a plane before in her life and she wanted to be clear-headed and not miss a thing. It stayed in the air like a gigantic magical dragon and she loved it, even as it roared and bounced about.

Disembarking at JFK airport, she noted the American air just smelled different. Everyone around was smiling gigantic, fake smiles in her direction and it made her feel unsettled. She had to wait in a line at customs so a man could barely glance at her as he stamped her passport and waved her through. Surrounded by so many people made her feel awkward and overwhelmed and she was so grateful when she found a driver holding a sign with her name. Something she recognised.

Not a word was spoken as she was loaded into the car and driven to a house she didn't know. She tried to look out the windows at her new city, but it was dark and the lights obscured her vision. When the car crawled to a stop, she piled out of it and was led into a house to meet with someone, though it wasn't her husband. She wouldn't be introduced to him until later.

As she was marched inside, she still remained silent. She had been taught to spoke when spoken to and she wanted to make all of this work. Anything to keep from being sent home in disgrace. She knew if she failed to make her new husband happy it wouldn't end well for her.

Vlad believed in returning past favors as it inspired loyalty and kept friendsship blooming. Plus it wouldn't do to put a strain on his ties to Russia. Not if he wanted to build an empire.

That and the girl could prove useful. So it was with that in mind he went to greet her, saying nothing at first but lifting her head with his fingers to look at her.

"Welcome, " he offered i Russian "what have they told you of me.?"

She knew her place, which was good. He hated breaking in new girls.

Releasing her he walked to a seat and poured two glasses of expensive wine. He motioned her to sit and handed her a glass. "My name is Vlad of the House of Draculesti. I am also known as the Impaler." To that, he smiled. "My contact tells me you know of this world. So I do not think I have to address what would happen if you do not do your duty."

"Good," he said nothing about the honor, for that he took for granted. He sipped at his drink. "Americans are easily led by a pretty face, so thank God for that. No mattered what, I will not intervene. You make your own fortune or misfortune."
