She took the tissues dabbing softly. She still had manners, even if she was choking on her own tears like a horse. It must have been horrendous for Richard to hear. She just couldn't help it. "You don't have to make a fuss over me. I don't want you to even feel like I'm here. This is your space." She'd spent so long feeling like an outsider in her own apartment with John, that even standing up to him she couldn't break out of that way of thinking just yet.
