Who: Richard and Isabelle
What: Offering aid
Where: Richard's Place
When: Monday
Warnings: TBD
If he was really honest with himself, he had kind of expected this. Despite the coat of niceness John had, he knew what kind of person his brother was. Granted, a lot of that had been because of popular belief, but it always made him sigh to see John fit the stereotype. He'd only just restrained himself from going to his brother and giving him a piece of his mind, because that would go nowhere good.
Instead he'd focused on making sure the guest room was ready, and had cursed John while working. When he heard the doorbell he paused and then went to open it. He gave Isabelle what he hoped was a comforting smile and stepped back to let her in. "You holding up okay?"

oh your icon, NOM
She stood in Richard's doorway with knees that felt like they would drop right out from under her. For a moment she couldn't even get the words out of her mouth to say she was okay. She wasn't and her throat had closed up from the tears. Her face showed John's handiwork. Right across the cheek in a red stripe. It was already a little puffy.
Russell Crowe is ridiculously attractive
Gently he rubbed her back, to let her cry if she needed to.
I've always thought so. I had a thing for him since Gladiator and The Quick and The Dead
And the way he looks in man of Steel is just UNF
Wishing his mother was here he rubbed her back before guiding her to a seat and setting her down. He was grateful when Normandy came over to lick at Isabelle's hand. Animals tended to help. He hoped.
I was surprised by how good that movie ended up being
She took a seat trying to compose herself enough to thank him. "I'm sorry," she whispered softly. She was nudged by the dog. She smiled rubbing behind his ears, wiping the tears off the cheek that had not been struck so forcefully.
Favorite parts are Russell parts XD
He went to set his hand on her shoulder, "who is very angry at her other son on your behalf. She just wants to make sure you're alright. And if you want to press charges."
He was good. I also drooled over Henry...
"No, no, I don't want to do that." Though she had every right to do so. She wasn't in the frame of mind to think about that right now.

"Alex might drop by too but he's a good guy. And whenever you're set we'll contact your folks and let you mend some bridges."

She applauded Richard's efforts to give her a comfortable space now with everything flipped upside down. She didn't feel like company, but he was doing everything he could to mend this horrible situation. He really was her white knight. "Thank you." She rubbed the dogs ears again. "I'd told you I wanted to meet him, I just didn't expect under these circumstances." She wiped her eyes again with her hands.

"None of this is your fault you know. My brother just has a ton of issues."
no subject
"No, don't talk to him. I don't want to see him coming around right now." She was adamant about not seeing him. He'd scared her. "I am sorry I didn't notice sooner." Sometimes it was going through a situation before you saw what people really were. "I thought he cared at least something for me. But he didn't..." she shook her head, those tears welling up again.
no subject
"Hey it's not your fault. And I'm sure he did care. He just doesn't know how to show that properly. Do you want a drink or something? I can do that much at least."

He nodded, "of course you can." He motioned to the bathroom, "right through there. I'll have some tea ready when you're all set."

She returned in a change of clothes, less classier than anything she usually wore. Long flannel pajama bottoms and a boyish tank top. She didn't feel she needed to impress anyone. All her make-up was gone, her hair damp on her shoulders. Cleaned up Richard would be able to see just how hard John had hit her. She padded softly into the kitchen. "I didn't mean to be in there so long," she spoke taking a seat at the counter.

He leaned against the counter and offered her a smile, "so, perhaps if you stay would you do me the favor of letting Normandy out every so often? I usually have someone come do that when I'm at work but if you could I would appreciate it. Speaking of." He straightened and got a piece of paper and scribbled a number on it. "If you need to get a hold of me at work this is the direct line. Can't have my cell on at work. I don't have a lot of food as I tend to order out a lot. IF you want we'll go shopping one of these days so you have what you need. Sound fair? Oh and I'd like to request being gentle with the shelves."
no subject
"We can if you don't mind. " She gave him a small smile, it wasn't as bright as usual. She couldn't help still feeling like she didn't fit in anywhere. "Thank you."

He smiled to her, "when you feel better I could take you to see the horses if you like? Both me and Alex have one and we drive up to where there stabled." As far as he knew, every woman liked horses.

"That would be....amazing," there were pricks of tears in her eyes but she did not let them drop. "I haven't ridden a horse in years. Not since I was in high school." She'd done some horse riding then, customary of a well-bred, rich girl.
