(no subject)

Who: Eleanor of Aquitaine, Richard the Lionheart, Isabelle Darlington
What: Doing the comforting thing
When: Wednesday night
Where: Richard's place

Eleanor was at the end of her rope with John. She really did love her son, but hitting his girlfriend was not something she was just going to let slide. But for right now, making sure the girl was alright was more important. If she needed someone to comfort her, to be a maternal figure in her life, then Eleanor could do that.

She went straight to Richard's from work, pulling up to the curb and parking her car. She took a moment to collect herself, to switch from CEO mode into a mothering one. Then she ascended the steps and knocked.

He just rolled his eyes at his mother. She could be terribly difficult at times. But he had inherited stubbornness from both his parents so he knew he couldn't talk.

He glanced to Isabelle and offered her a smile before taking the coat from his mother. "Isabelle," he offered in English, "This is my mother. Mother, Isabelle." He hung the coat up "I have some wine if anyone wants some?"

Isabelle seemed a little stunned. Mother? She was....gorgeous. She was so young. She looked back and forth between the too, offering her hand to Eleanor with a small curtsy. "Nice to meet you," she finally croaked out. She felt like her words were stuck. "I don't mean to stare, I'm sorry. You're just a lot younger than I was expecting." It was a compliment, it really was.

He kept his mouth shut and just guided Eleanor into the living room. "Let's hope he listens. Please sit." He motioned to the couch and went into the kitchen.

Half glad Alex wasn't here, he grabbed some glasses and one of his mother's favorite wines. He returned with them and set the glasses down, pouring some for the two.

Isabelle grazed her cheek with her small hands. It didn't throb anymore, but it didn't look pleasant either. She had to go out with big sun glasses over her face and hope no one asked her about it because she would go off about how horrible her ex was (even though deep down she missed him---and that made her feel terrible).

She took a seat beside Eleanor, politely nodding as Richard prepared the wine. She needed a little, maybe it would help wash some of this away. "I'm okay, really." She told Eleanor, her dainty fingers pinching the flute of the wine glass.
