WHAT: Lunchtimes!
WHEN: Wednesday afternoon
WHERE: A cafe close to Maddy's place

Lena could tell Thomas was incredibly excited about the fact that they were all heading out to have lunch some where else. Victor had rented out a little room so they could sit without having to deal with anyone else, and it was close to Maddy's house so she could come too. Lena, Thomas and Jamie headed over to pick Maddy up so they could venture out and not feel so isolated. Kat and Charlotte were working, but When Victor showed up, he had a redhead in tow. Lena figured the more the merrier and she waved the pair of them over to the table.

"Hi guys! We haven't ordered drinks yet." She stuck her hand out to Aoife and smiled. "I'm Lena," she said, before introducing everyone else at the table.

"This is Aoife. She's Kat's cousin and she wanted company today," Victor explained before taking a seat. "How is everyone?"

"No that's okay!" she said, waving her hands around. "Yeah, she's Aphrodite and she's really great! Who else did you meet who's the child of a goddess? It's nice sometimes to know you're not the only freak around," Aoife said with a laugh.

"Ah, that would be me," Jamie chimed in, pointing to himself. "My mom is the goddess, or embodiment, or whatever, of Nerd Culture. Well, one of them, anyway. I only found out a few months ago, it's still a little weird."

"Which is cool, since you're a little weird," Maddy teased, poking him.

Aoife's mouth dropped open and then she clapped. "That is awesome! Okay we're definitely being friends now! I remember when I found out I was like 'hahahhaa stop lying' to my dad. But now I live with her and Ares taught me how to protect myself. So weird sometimes."

"But hey, handy to know Ares is on your side I'd wager," Thomas said with a nod.

"Totally. Although I think he thinks I'm hot too, which is also weird. But whatever." She bounced twice on the booth and then said, "I'm going to pee!"

"Me too!" Lena jumped up and they headed to the bathrooms, giggling the entire way.

Victor ran a hand through his hand before chuckling and saying, "well that's Aoife!"

Jamie grinned. "Yeah, it's pretty cool. And her brother's pretty awesome too. But yeah, I had sort of the same reaction. Well. More like complete disbelief, but yeah."

"Yeah, ditto," Maddy added. "And yeah, that does sound sort of weird, but from what I've read of Greek gods, they're all a little weird."

Jamie watched them go, before saying, "Which, as we all know, is girl speak for 'off to chat in the bathroom'."

"Shh, you can't give away all our secrets!" Maddy giggled. "But I like her! She's...vibrant."

Thomas chuckled and he said, "welp, let's hope I come off well there!"

"I wouldn't worry," Victor promised him. "Aoife probably won't give Lena much of a chance to say anything anyway. Vibrant is a good word for her. She's really great though. Very generous and kind. And she's the one who got Kat and I to finally go on a date and who knows if I ever would have asked if Aoife hadn't rather magnificently told me to just do it."

"It seems she's good at that," Thomas laughed. He hadn't really expected to tell his family Lena did porn but it appeared they didn't care. "I'm glad Lena didn't want to keep it secret."

Maddy patted his arm. "I don't think you have to worry, Tommy," she assured him.

"She does seem pretty cool," Jamie agreed. "We can start a club, children of god things. Make T-shirts. Kat can join too, grandkids count."

"Secrets have a way of not staying secret for long in our family," Maddy added. "Mostly because we collectively have no filter. Except Jamie."

"You say that like it's a bad thing."

"I do wonder where you developed that filter," Thomas laughed. "But it's definitely not a bad thing!"

"I think if you asked Aoife to join a club, she might squeal with happiness. Kat will want the shirts to have a movie or game reference." Victor smiled as he spoke about at, as he always did.

"Sometimes I'm at work and I have to remind myself filters in public are a good thing," Thomas said, smiling at Maddy.

"Y'all are slowly destroying it," Jamie joked. "But sometimes it helps."

"I'm pretty sure we could work that in somehow," he went on. "Make them all cool and whatnot. Have meetings when the various pantheons go nuts. That kind of thing."

Maddy laughed. "Same when I'm at school," she agreed. "There have been so many times I've had to bite my tongue and not just say whatever's popped into my head."

"That's how it happens," Thomas chuckled at his son. "And then you'll be like me and Maddy, trying not to make cock jokes at work."

"Try having an archangel as a partner," Victor spoke up. "He didn't get any of my jokes."
