She'd found the OBGYN at the recommendation of her gynecologist, and found so far the lady had been very nice and pleasant. She'd gone over everything that would need to happen, and already gotten the blood needed. So she'd been put on the table and found herself a tad uncomfortable in the gown. She was glad for Victor's presence, as it helped stave off some of the nervousness.

The doctor had said that if everything worked out alright they'd get to hear a heartbeat, and she'd point out the baby on the monitor as well. So she waited for the doctor to return, and idly studied the posters and pamphlets nearby.

Victor was sure to make Kat as comfortable as possible. He was sure it was not nice being up on a table, letting someone prod and poke at her. "Feeling okay?" he asked, reaching out to take her hand.

She was terribly grateful for his presence, and with a smile took his hand. "Nervous. Unsure what to expect." She gave him a squeeze, "you? Excited to hear Baby Skynet?" She'd only use the nickname until they got a gender. It was all msotly in jest anyway.

Once she finished squeezing, he bounced a little. "So excited! And I want to see the baby too! I've been looking forward to it all week!"

She smiled to him, "you're going to bring the sonogram pictures to class I'm betting. Showing them off." She couldn't blame him really it was exciting. She leaned over for a kiss and drew back when she heard the door.

She smiled to the doctor and settled back down, listening as she went through what they could expect.

"Of course! And in to the station house as well, everyone wants to see them."

Victor listened as well, fascinated by the whole thing. He liked hearing about his child. It filled him with excitement and pride.

When the doctor finished, Kat smiled but kept Victor's hand in hers. She had no doubt this would be pretty big. It was a bit shocking to feel the gel on her skin, as it was cool. She'd seen this in movies but to have it happen was pretty weird.

After a few moments she heard a noise and her breath caught. IT was a bit fast but the doctor didn't look to worried so that relaxed her. She fought pretty hard not to cry, even though she was sure it happened often, and blinked away the emotional response to hearing the heartbeat. "Holy shit," she gave after a few moments.

She looked at the doctor who pointed out the faint outline of the baby before taking another breath. "I got nothing but holy shit again."

"Yeah, that's pretty much what I have too," he said, staring at the screen as the doctor pointed out the shape of the forming baby, Victor had completely burst into tears. At least he was quiet. He was supposed to be dead, and yet here he was, listening to the heartbeat of his child with the woman he loved. "It's beautiful."
