Where: Their apartment, then some coffee place


Piper had pretty much abandoned her paper once she'd written the two pages she'd told herself she would. Once those were done, she hightailed it into the kitchen. Rummaging in the fridge and cupboards, she found everything she needed to make the skillet tuna casserole she'd found online, and set to chopping and mixing and stirring. Cooking relaxed her, and she fell into the familiar rhythm rather quickly.

She heard movements in the living room and called out, "Charles, is that you?"

She took his plate and rinsed it off, then placed it in the dishwasher. "That sounds perfect, let me just get my coat." She dashed to her room and pulled it on, coming back into the kitchen. "All set."

Charles got up and pulled on his coat as well. When Piper came back, he held out his hand for her with a wide smile.

Piper took his hand with a smile of her own. It was nice, getting out of the apartment for a while that wasn't going to school or work. "Shall we?" she asked.

"We shall!" Hand in hand they walked out of the apartment and headed towards the cafe. As they made their way there, Charles figured he should breech the subject of how much he wanted to kiss her again.

"I...I've been thinking of the kiss we had," he admitted. "A lot, actually."

That made her heart flutter a little, because she had been thinking about it, too. "Yeah?" she asked, lightly squeezing his hand.

"It was nice. And then you listened to my past and didn't run away," he was so grateful for that. "Have...you been thinking about it?"

"It was," she agreed. "And it would have been poor repayment of your honesty to run away."

"Yeah, I have been," she admitted softly. "Like I said before, I don't regret it."

Charles was glad to know she didn't regret it. "I have been...considering doing it again," he admitted. "Only less...sudden this time."

"Then you should," she said, perhaps a bit impulsively. But fuck it, she was only human, and she liked Charles. "I mean. If you want."

He did want. Awkwardly, he leaned in and kissed her lightly before pulling away to smile at her. "I really think you're beautiful."
