Who: Piper Addison & Lewis Carroll
What: Coffee times!
When: Thursday evening
Where: Their apartment, then some coffee place

Piper had pretty much abandoned her paper once she'd written the two pages she'd told herself she would. Once those were done, she hightailed it into the kitchen. Rummaging in the fridge and cupboards, she found everything she needed to make the skillet tuna casserole she'd found online, and set to chopping and mixing and stirring. Cooking relaxed her, and she fell into the familiar rhythm rather quickly.

She heard movements in the living room and called out, "Charles, is that you?"

"Why yes it is me!" he said cheerfully, rounding the corner to head into the kitchen to join her. He had been out all day perusing a few flea markets and he was glad to be home.

"What are you making, it smells amazing!"

"I hear they haven't invented that technology yet," he said, his tone lamenting. He moved over to sit on the kitchen counter, well enough out of the way that he wouldn't ruin anything.

Charles watched the food go into the oven with interest and he hoped he got some when it was ready. He didn't voice that, however.

"I found a few pieces. A beautiful grandfather clock with finger bones for for dial. It's being delivered on Monday."

Charles jumped up eagerly at that. "Yes please, I'm starved." He had gotten something before the flea market but it had only been a small muffin. And the casserole really did smell fantastic.

"The clock is gorgeous, you'll love it. I'm an inch away from buying it myself."

Charles chuckled as he dished himself up some of the food. He took a small bite and grinned. "Delicious. You're quite good at this though, as a teacher, I believe I am supposed to encourage you to study instead of making delicious dinner. I am going to ignore my responsibilities."

He laughed and kept mum about responsibilities as she asked. "If you still want to avoid things, I could take you out for coffee after dinner. I believe I owe you a coffee date."

"No, it usually doesn't," Charles mused. "Writer's block is a bitch. I'll be as distracting as I can."

"It could be. We could talk about it if you wanted, though that isn't very distractionary."

He watched her, loving the way her lips moved when she smiled. Dangerous thoughts.

"Heh, uhm...found a lot of medical equipment as always. A few antique toys which people always love."

Distractions he could offer and if he was honest with himself, he could use some as well. He couldn't stop thinking about kissing Piper.

"A few dolls, which continue to terrify me. There's a great train set which people will pay an incredible amount for. Oh, I found the creepiest rocking horse (http://news.bbc.co.uk/media/images/39874000/jpg/_39874699_rockinghorse300200_bbc.jpg). It is going to be the stuff of some poor child's nightmares."

I KNOW WTF!?

Charles chuckled as she warned him off terrifying movies. "Warning noted, I would like to avoid terrifying dolls. And yes, the horse is horrible. I sort of love it."

"I haven't seen it, though I'll keep it in mind in case," Charles smiled at her.

"All finished. Is the cafe on the corner good enough?"

Charles got up and pulled on his coat as well. When Piper came back, he held out his hand for her with a wide smile.

I love it!

"We shall!" Hand in hand they walked out of the apartment and headed towards the cafe. As they made their way there, Charles figured he should breech the subject of how much he wanted to kiss her again.

"I...I've been thinking of the kiss we had," he admitted. "A lot, actually."

"It was nice. And then you listened to my past and didn't run away," he was so grateful for that. "Have...you been thinking about it?"

Charles was glad to know she didn't regret it. "I have been...considering doing it again," he admitted. "Only less...sudden this time."

He did want. Awkwardly, he leaned in and kissed her lightly before pulling away to smile at her. "I really think you're beautiful."
